- Secular Musician Attacked By Some Ghanaian Pastors For Making Gospel Song
Posted by : Anonymous
Secular musicians releasing gospel tunes is gradually becoming a trend in the music industry, with few gospel songs released every now and then. While some are embracing their creative works, others notably pastors find such a trend to be an act of hypocrisy.
One of Ghana's fast rising stars Ramz Nic who recently released his first gosple tune titled "Nyame ay3 bi" laments on his experience within the gospel cycle after the release of his song which is surprisingly making waves in every corner of the country.
According to the "pus3s3" hitmaker who spoke to ThePrinceLive.Com in an interview expressed his worry as to how much criticisms he has been facing from the religious section ever since he released the song
"The fact that I'm not a Gospel artist doesn't mean I can't do gospel too, I have every right as a musician to be versatile and express my emotions through the music I do, I don't get why these Pastors should attack me" he lamented.
When ThePrinceLive.Com curiously asked what could have been the cause of these religious leaders chastising him, Ramz Nic explained that they are offended by his grooming especially his hairstyle. "some pastors are attacking me because of my hairstyle and the funny part is none of them have actually sat down to listen to the lyrics of my song. I wrote the song to express my gratitude to God for how far he has brought me and I don't think that's a sin. Why should they judge me based on my appearance and not the song" he explained
Some secular musicians who have started the trend of gospel music include Sarkodie - Adonnai, Yaa Pono - Amen, Lil Shaker - handkerchief and a host of others.
The question ThePrinceLive.Com asks is that should a secular musician making gospel music be an issue at all.
